‘Twisted’ is back with season two, premiering on April 25th on partner
JioCinema’s platform as well as his own recently launched OTT platform - VB on
The Web.
The latest bollywood news is that Nia
Sharma, one of Asia’s most alluring celebrities and voted second sexiest women
in a list published by Eastern Eye newspaper - is reprising her role as Aliya
Mukherji, a famous model with a manipulative beauty and a direct, scheming
attitude.
The first season surrounded the murder of
Naina Rachand, the wife of Ranvir Raichand (Namit Khanna) who becomes a prime
suspect along with his ex-girlfriend Aliya mukherjee (Nia), with both suspects
offering a different version of events to officials, a gradual and insidious
murmur of deceit and lies unfolds, becoming more and more involved as the story
continues.
Speaking about her role, Nia explained
her feelings about returning to the series "Twisted
1 came as a game changer for me since it was my move from TV to web and also in
a completely changed avatar which was tough for me as well. I never thought of
myself as a glamorous girl or never thought that I'd ever pull of a character
like Aliya Mukherjee. But it gave me a lot of confidence after it released. Now
with Twisted 2, I feel more confident, more glamours, more experimental in
terms of Aliyah's looks and I'm extremely elated that the story also is so much
more deep and impactful than last time... this is a series and a character that
will not be written for me each time I go out to find projects. So I'm going to
give it my all.”
Nia announced her return to the show via
her instagram page with a seductive picture of herself, bright red lips and
stormy eyes - reminding fans of what they have been missing. The beauty has
been blessed with many talents, and has been well praised for her performances
on screen - receiving positive reviews on her acting skills in season one of
Twisted, as well as winning “Best Popular Actress” at the Indian Tele Awards in
2012. A daring performer, Nia was the first Indian television actress to lose
her hair for an onscreen role where she portrayed a cancer sufferer. Her
versatility and genuine acting prowess keeps fans guessing and always coming back
for more.
As with season one, Twisted two will be
directed by Anupam Santosh Saroj and will feature Tia Bajpai, Karishma Kotak,
Sahel Phull and Achint Kaur in significant roles. The new series will tell the
story of how Aliya Mukherji becomes embroiled in yet another complex web of
lies and is accused of the murder of her ex boyfriend, Vinod. Aryan (Rahul
Raj), an ex cop who she double crossed last season is out for the truth - and
revenge. This time, he is on a rampage - free from the law and with no
restrictions. The two will eventually come to a head and only time will tell
who will win this deep seated power struggle for justice and retribution.
One thing's for certain, Nia is no doubt
going to wow us and keep us on the edge of our seats as the story unfolds.
